Hello 2017 : Spring Fashion Trends

December 22, 2016

With the temperatures dipping low, it doesn't feel right to discuss spring fashion, but in the fashion world you must be one step ahead. So let's chat about what Elle and Vogue are predicting the fashion trends for Spring 2017.

If we look at the runway shows for spring you will see lots of stripes, bold patterns, and some throwback 80s fashion.

Like the old saying, history does repeat itself, but sometimes it gets a facelift! Strong shoulders are making a comeback in fashion houses like Vuitton and Saint Laurent. High platforms can be seen in the new Gucci collection for women's shoes. The 80s were a fun era for fashion so it's no surprise fashion houses are incorporating the look.

Bold patterns can be fun to play with as well. However, you want to be careful that you don't look like a tablecloth or a giant walking flower. It can be a little tricky, but have fun with patterns. I love the idea of mixing patterns, everything does not always have to match.

Ultimately, fashion is what you feel good in. Staying on trend is great, but you should not have to break the bank to do so. Look at Zara, H & M and Forever 21 to buy some trendy pieces. Save your money for classic, staple pieces that are timeless. High/low is the way to go with fashion. Remember you don't have to spend a million bucks to look like a million bucks!
